The Field Sales Engineer is on a permanent basis paying £25-32k plus company car, bonus scheme, laptop, company mobile, pension and 25+8 Hols



The overall purpose of the Field Sales Engineer


This role will be responsible for new business sales and also managing & developing a portfolio of existing accounts for the return to base calibration business.



Main Responsibilities, Tasks and Accountabilities



  • Meet or exceed annual sales target, increase market share through achieving maximum sales through existing accounts and discovering new customers

  • Work with the labs to ensure any new or contract renewal business quoted will provide a suitable level of profitability to the business.

  • Work closely with the Labs to ensure that services offered are within the capability and capacity of the laboratory

  • Actively manage the sales process: prospect identification, needs analysis, presentation, define solution, proposal, negotiation, close, follow up & obtain referrals

  • Run successful review meetings



  • Report Progress on the plan to the UK Sales Manager

  • Manage a pipeline of new business opportunities

  • Negotiate new contracts and amendments to existing ones



Functional Experience



  • Must have sales experience, preferable in a calibration environment.

    Technical background would be advantageous

  • Working to and maintaining a detailed sales plan and pipeline

  • Experience of effectively working and managing a sales territory



Industry experience


Calibration sales experience would be useful and / or selling Test and Measurement equipment.

Previous experience of working for a calibration Lab or Test equipment OEM or distributor.



This is an excellent opportunity to join the company on a 6-12 month contract, during which time there is a strong prospect of the position becoming permanent.

To apply, you should be an experienced Instrument Calibration Technician with experience in the calibration, repair and testing of calibration, test and measurement equipment; electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, electrohydraulic, or electronic measuring and recording instruments, apparatus and equipment.



The client is an expanding global leader in the provision of calibration, test & measurement and technical services in the specialist fields of electrical, time & frequency, dimensional, physical, torque, pressure, temperature, humidity, vibration, acceleration, mass, fibre optic, radiometry & photometry.

The Field Sales Engineer role would be a Home Based position but would include travelling to sites across the Midlands and the North of England.

The client operate in aerospace, automotive, defence, power generation, electronics, medical & communications etc.
