A Global Aerospace & Defence company is seeking an Optical Design Engineer to join its growing team in Kent.

The Role…

As an Optical Design Engineer you’ll design and develop optical systems for Avionic Military equipment.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited, to the following:
- Carrying out Optical set-up, commissioning and testing from individual products through to system level measures
- Conducting design reviews to assess the maturity and verifying the route to production of optical designs produced within the optics group will be a key aspect of the role.

Understanding the background knowledge in geometric, holographic and waveguide optics and developing it on to successful well tolerance products will essential in this role

You…

You’ll be of a similar working background in the design development and delivery of complex optical systems, ideally within the Aerospace or Defence Sector.
You’ll ideally be educated to Degree level in Physics, Science or Optics, or will have equivalent working experience.
You’ll be experience with tools such as ZEMAX, FRED and Excel.
