Reporting directly into the Operations Director an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join an innovative engineering company based in Berkshire has become available.

Through an increased workload on their core product range and the transfer and integration of a new product range from one of their existing group businesses the company has seen record sales and therefore the need to appoint an experienced Purchasing Manager who has extensive knowledge and experience within a busy purchasing department.

The opportunity available offers the ability to expand the current purchasing team, manage and influence buyers and expeditors.

Experience of implementing new processes and procedures along with new purchasing tools is essential as the need to put in best practice ideas and take away a ‘fire fighting’ attitude is key.

The Purchasing Manager sought is required to add value to the supply chain and material processes within a Manufacturing / Engineering environment through:

- Management and responsibility of Purchasing Department including 5 direct reports.
- Management and improvement of current key supplier network, setting up partnerships and agreements with new suppliers as appropriate.
- Purchase order placement in-line with Operational demands and plan.
- Support and lead improving interface between Technical, Purchasing and Production.

The Qualifications/Experience required includes:
- An Engineering/Technical background.
- Purchasing management experience.
- Microsoft Office and Outlook proficient at intermediate to advanced level.
- Experience of Integrated Business Systems.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
