Positioning Engineer

Positioning Engineer.  c£22K plus benefits.  As a Positioning Engineer you will be working alongside a team of dedicated engineers.

This role also involves travelling to survey vessels docked around the UK and worldwide, occasionally requiring short periods of offshore as a field support operative.
 
You will provide specialist technical support for the Navigation and Communication aspects of the Company's vessels.

This will involve the installation, repair, maintenance and onsite diagnosis of GPS and underwater acoustic related positioning systems, in addition to HF, VHF and VSAT communication systems and RADAR.

You will also support any integrated survey data acquisition and processing equipment, plus the conventional marine navigation, safety and communication systems.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience relevant to this role with a background in either, telecoms, electronics or radio frequency engineering.

Embedded PIC or 8052 programming in assembler or ‘C' and knowledge of the offshore survey industry would be advantageous.

You will be someone that contributes to the team and have excellent communication skills when offering advice or sharing information about your work.
 
You will have a positive approach to challenges and problems, responding to demands whilst remaining calm and focused on completing the task before the deadline set.

You must be someone who adopts a ‘safety first' approach whilst carrying out any work, you must adhere to company safety policies and procedures at all times.
