Deputy Head of IT / Senior IT Manager

Deputy Head of IT / Senior IT Manager needed for this rapidly expanding organisation based in Doha, Qatar.

Working directly with the head of IT the role responsibilities will include leading their IT infrastructure team, being a Technical Authority and supporting the business in achieving their strategic objectives.

This role will play an integral part in influencing the future direction of this ambitious and expanding business.


Deputy Head of IT / Senior IT Manager needed for this rapidly expanding organisation based in Doha, Qatar.

Working directly with the head of IT the role responsibilities will include leading their IT infrastructure team, being a Technical Authority and supporting the business in achieving their strategic objectives.

This role will play an integral part in influencing the future direction of this ambitious and expanding business.



This is a broad role which will require a pragmatic and flexible approach and will include but not be limited to:

• Playing a lead role in the development and direction of the IT department and the IT Infrastructure
• Able to take on responsibilities of Senior Architect and plan strategically.


• Ensure the IT Department delivers core functionality in the areas of, project definition, network management and service delivery.


• Build strong relationships both internally and externally.

To advise the executive management team on the effective use of IT and the options and risks involved as well as communicating effectively to staff at all levels.


• Managing SLA’s across the business to ensure performance levels are met and to devise and deliver strategies to influence the infrastructure and control.


• Full financial management of the IT infrastructure budget to ensure that IT expenditure is contained within the agreed budgets and represents value for money.


• Building and maintaining a dynamic and enthusiastic IT Department capable of delivering agreed services.



Candidate

The right candidate will have experience leading a small IT department, or be Head of IT for a smaller company looking to take a step up.



You will have recent experience of delivering projects from both a strategic and technical point of view and whilst the role isn’t 100% “hands on” technical you will undoubtedly have to get involved technically and the right candidate will have demonstrable and current experience of this (highlighted on the CV)

Clearly in addition to strong IT skills, business awareness is critical in this role as you will be working closely with the business to ensure that the IT systems meet the needs and add real value to the business.



We need to find someone with a wide ranging skill set which will include:

• Well rounded experience in Networks, AIX, iSeries, hardware, communications, IT Operations, Windows etc.


• Strategic and tactical thinking.


• Very strong communication skills and ability to work with staff, senior management and stake holders at all levels.


• Proven track record of developing and implementing IT systems.


• Experience of Building, Leading, managing and planning the activities of an IT team.


• Project and Programme Management Experience.
