Desktop Infrastructure Engineer

My client is a leading international law firm advising corporates and financial institutions.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Desktop Developer to join their Operations Team to provide development and support of the firm's desktop across all offices and working with the Systems Team when relevant.

My client is looking for a Lead Desktop Infrastructure Engineer to join their Operations Team in Central London to provide development and support the firm's desktop across all offices.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Desktop Developer to join their Operations Team to provide development and support of the firm’s desktop across all offices and working with the Systems Team when relevant.


My client is looking for a Lead Desktop Infrastructure Engineer to join their Operations Team in Central London to provide development and support the firm's desktop across all offices.

The firm are currently rolling out their Windows 7 / Office 2010 project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:



  • Packaging and deployment of applications

  • Provide 3rd line support and maintenance of MS Office desktop applications

  • Review and further develop the desktop builds across all offices

  • Develop and mentor more junior members of the Desktop Applications Team

  • Produce up to date documentation



Key Technologies: MS SQL Server 2005/ MS SQL Server 2008 – Windows 2008 R2 - MS Office 2003/2007/2010 – VB – Active Directory – SSCM – Windows 7 OS – Adobe – WSUS – App-V



Skills & Experience:



  • Extensive experience in MS Office 2003/2007/2010 development

  • Experience in designing OS builds, software packaging and deployment

  • Knowledge and experience of using Active Directory for Software Deployment/Access/Setting option/Group Policy Management

  • Microsoft SCCM packaging, reporting, deployment and operating

  • Windows 7 upgrade/rollout project experience

  • A flexible and adaptable approach to issue resolution

  • Record of running with projects and a dynamic approach to finding solutions as well as high adaptability

  • Presentation skills and good communication skills

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills

  • Batch and command line file creating/editing
