The Digital Media Group is looking for an experienced Digital Platform Manager to lead the development of a new online platform.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Overall responsibility for managing the lifecycle of one or more digital platforms from initiation and market research, design, development, operation, enhancement, and end-of-life.

Operationally manage the staff involved in implementing and supporting platforms.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/KEY RESULT AREAS

1 Work closely with publishing, sales, marketing, customer service, and technology teams to define platform roadmaps
2 Prioritise platform feature selection and enhancements using strong business rationale, which will support the company’s overall strategy and goals.
3 Oversee the execution of the lifecycle of platforms, including research, initiation, design, procurement, implementation, normal operations, continual development, and end-of-life.
4 Ensure platforms link widely with internal services or external partner services and technologies, based on market needs
5 Establish a strategy to ensure on-going platform integration and compatibility with both other areas of the business and key external delivery channels such as a variety of browser and operating environments
6 Work closely with marketing, sales, customer service, publishing and technology teams to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
7 Maintain high level of expertise of the market and familiarity with offerings from business competitors related to their platforms.


8 Design and run beta and pilot with early-stage product development on various platforms.
9 Responsible for the day-to-day operations and technical support for live platforms.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Broad technical hardware and large-scale systems knowledge, with emphasis on educational systems, e-publishing systems or e-learning solutions
• Detailed understanding of virtual learning environments and ideally Learning Management Systems
• Demonstrable experience creating and delivering roadmaps and version planning for complex systems
• Knowledge of integration of multiple systems into production workflows
• Experience in directing teams who deliver technical support
• Experience in liaising with stakeholders across a range of areas
• Strong communication skills and ability to build good customer relationships
• Substantial project management experience, Prince2 preferred
• Higher education degree
