Trained Nurse

Our Client is a quality residential care home with nursing for young disabled adults with a range of complex impairments and learning difficulties.

For us, it's about more than just accommodation and personal care.

Our care homes can act as a stepping stone to independent living and we work with everyone involved to plan for the future.

We also provide short breaks accommodation for young adults from across Wales, who want to come and spend some time away from their families and experience all the fun Cardiff has to offer.

Key Responsibilites as one of our Nurses include

  • Implementing plans through tasks such as preparing patients for operations, wound treatment and monitoring pulse, blood pressure and temperature, repositioning and physiotherapy plans

  • Observing and recording the condition of patients

  • Checking and administering drugs and injections

  • Planning transitions from hospital or specialist schools and liaising with community nurses, GP's and social workers

  • Communicating with and relieving the anxiety of patients and their relatives;

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required by our Nurses

  • Professional qualification or degree or proven extensive experience in relevant field .

  • Ability to be flexible, respond positively to change, and work effectively under pressure and deal with conflicting priorities

  • Act in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct and guiding documents

  • Maintain active status on NMC Register

  • Infection prevention and control

  • Clinical supervision.

  • Role in health surveillance / medical checks / health promotion.

  • First Aid - nurses are not necessarily first aiders, and if this is to be part of their role, they should have a First Aid at Work Certificate.

    If the nurse is required to teach first aid, they must be a qualified first aid instructor

  • To maintain P.R.E.P as required by N.M.C.

  • Travel will be required throughout the area and elsewhere within England and Wales.
