Warehouse Supervisor

Warehouse Supervisor -Fulfillment Centre

Based in Southwater, West Sussex, our client are a proven leader in online retail.

They are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience to lead a small team in our in our fast moving fulfilment warehouse handling 7000+ orders per week.

Offering a remuneration package that includes a performance related bonus scheme of up to 10% of salary, pension and group life schemes.

Reporting to the Stock & Logistics Manager, the role of the Warehouse Supervisor is:

  • Ensure the day to day functions of the warehouse and fulfilment centre are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Management of picking/packing staff of between 2 and 5 people, work volumes dependent
  • Planning and ongoing monitoring of resource allocation appropriate to work levels that day
  • Keeping staff optimised, motivated and up to date with progress during the day
  • Providing regular statistical data to track progress of staff and area throughout the day, taking corrective action where needed to get back on plan
  • Printing orders from order database at specified times during the day
  • Assisting with picking and packing of stock, as required
  • Counting and preparing post for Royal Mail collections ensuring compliance with Royal Mail rules and procedures
  • Organise the replenishment of stock into picking locations throughout the warehouse
  • Responsible for Health and Safety in working area ensuring compliant safe working practices are followed by all warehouse staff
  • Ensure warehouse housekeeping is kept to a high standard

Skills required:

  • Must be well organised and focused
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good mathematical and literacy skills
  • Good IT Skills with a working experience of Excel an advantage
  • People management or supervisory skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others, delegate work and explain ideas, is essential
  • Ability to work well under pressure in achieving tight deadlines
  • Ability to work efficiently, on your own initiative
  • Ability to work well both as an individual and in a small team environment
  • Forward thinking, and always striving to be two steps ahead of others
  • Adaptable to a variety of situations
  • Experience of using Royal Mail’s Online Business Account (OBA) and Dispatch Manager Online (DMO) is advantageous
  • Experience of working in an ISO approved company, and proven adherence to processes within that organisation advantageous
  • Occasionally the job is a physical one and the applicant would be expected to lift boxes and sacks weighing up to 15kgs on their own in line with HSE guidelines
