The Company
Our Clients specialises in manufacturing a range of bespoke extrusion cutting machinery.

With all their machines designed in-house & are built to order for a worldwide client base, exporting approximately 70% of their equipment mainly to the automotive, medical & food sectors.

The role:
The Electrical Design Engineer will support production by developing electrical wiring diagrams & parts lists for new machine builds.

Once the machines are complete, to help install & test machine software & control systems.

This position will take you around the world, so there must be a willingness to travel.

Daily Duties:
Provide electrical engineering support to Production during the machine build.
Prepare electrical specifications, panel layout drawings, parts lists/bills of material, wiring & circuit diagrams etc.

within agreed timescales.
Ensure the all electrical designs are done in a cost effective manner.
Provide technical support to customers, i.e.

fault-finding, problem solving & software enhancements.
To visit customers to commission machines.
To support customers in the field, including telephone support & site visits to solve machine problems.
Keep good records & ensure these are updated as required.
Prepare electrical risk assessments & maintain the highest level of safety consciousness in the design process.

Essential Experience required:
Good working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical 2016 or a similar electrical design CAD software program.
Experience with 3-phase motors & drives (servo & inverter), PLCs & HMIs.
Ideally educated to at least HNC/HND level in Electrical Engineering or similar.
Familiarity with Siemens, Lenze & Pilz components & programming would be very beneficial.
2 - 3 years' experience of electrical design in a machine manufacturing environment.
An understanding of designing machine safety circuits to ISO EN 13849 Parts 1 & 2.
Knowledge of the EMC & Low Voltage directives would be an advantage.
