  • This role will require an experienced individual capable of understanding, interpreting and communicating supplier concerns across functional teams within the business with the following attributes.

  • Typically expect 5-7 years relevant post -qualification experience

  • Problem solving will require evaluative judgements based on information from multiple sources in a timely way.

    Judgement is used to resolve problems by selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and knowledge.

  • Will understand company business objectives and regularly work across boundaries to achieve those objectives.

  • Technically contributing to the responsibilities list below Responsible for driving commitments delivering to the right quality non-conformance management and internal & external supplier engagement.

  • Works within the team to assist in technical judgements.

    Able to identify and implement continuous improvement through the development of existing, or application of, new knowledge.

  • Will be leading discussions and taking actions to find common ground to resolving issues.

    In situations of conflict recognises differences in approach and will recommend different options on ways forward but will then seek some advice from others.

    Will be expected to influence more senior staff at management level.

    Will be able to exchange technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way.

    Be sensitive to audience diversity and have the ability to tailor the message to a broader audience with various levels of technical knowledge and understanding.

    When challenged will be able to lead robust and constructive debate and discussion.

    Demonstrates the behavioural competencies required for this role.


  • Manage Quality clinics for

  • Robust Problem Definition

  • Raising RCCA /8D for vendor non-conformance

  • Coordinate vendor onsite containment actions

  • Return To Vendor process for rejected vendor parts

  • Concession / Production Permit management

  • FAIR review and approval and governance

  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

  • Supplier Scorecard generation / reporting and circulation to vendor

  • Vendor certification governance (AS9100)

  • Engineering Change Review (ECR) Governance (supplier related)

  • Provide guidance on key quality tools:- Typically)

    • Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)

    • Statistical Process control (SPC)

    • Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)

    • Workplace organisation (6S)

    • Identification & eradication of waste

    • Value stream mapping (VSM)

    • Advance product Quality Planning (APQP)

    • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

    • Others tools as needed

  • Support supplier audits

    • Working Assessment Supplier Performance (WASP

  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing GD&T

Background Experience and Qualifications

  • Must have a recognized engineering qualification and /or relevant experience within an engineering environment undertaking similar activities.

  • Demonstrated expertise in RCCA & problem solving techniques such as 8D

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques, Green / Black Belt

  • Be fully conversant with general business computer based software (MS office package)

  • Aerospace or automotive experience will be an advantage

  • Knowledge of best practice inspection techniques


Internally this role will have a direct reporting line to the Supplier Development Lead
