Online Product Manager - Mobile Apps

We're recruiting on behalf of a major consumer brand who are looking for an experienced Digital Product Manager, specifically who has managed the product roadmap for a Mobile App.

This is both a sales and service led Mobile App for both Android and iOS and is currently on the handsets of tens millions of customers.

As the Mobile App Product Manager, you will be responsible for setting the vision of what the app needs to look like, the features on offer and the consumer's ability to interact with the application.

Through understanding the business and customer needs you will be able to create a clear plan of action that's voiced to both business stakeholders and the tech teams for creation.

Strong stakeholder management is key! Your ability to effectively communicate will be crucial to your success.

You will need to be confident engaging with the board and explaining:

  • When features will being delivered

  • The apps development, managing stakeholder's ongoing expectations.

  • New features and capabilities to meet customer needs as well as prioritising these.

You will be working in an agile manner, with release cycles for app upgrades roughly every 2 months, as well as continuous bug fixes when they arise.

You will be responsible for defining the strategy and establish buy-in to this.

Once achieved, you will work alongside the Product Owner who will oversee things at an implementations level; your involvement will be to ensure the plan is delivered.

To be successful in this role you're going to need to have experience in this space! You will be the go to person for all app related queries so having the knowledge to confidently answer is crucial.

Your targets will be to:

  • Drive customer usage of the app

  • Improve customer satisfaction

  • Improve the self- serve capabilities and reduce the need for customers to contact call centres

  • Develop the future ability of the app and identify and introduce sales opportunities.

Role: Digital Product Manager - Mobile Apps
Location: Newbury
Salary: £60,000 to £80,000 (dependant on experience)
Benefits: 10% on target bonus, pension, healthcare, life assurance and blue-chip benefits package

The Business

This is a very big consumer brand business with millions of customers as well as offering multiple products and services.

Their offices are modern, with good parking and facilities on-site.

Experience Required:

  • First and foremost - must have experience as a Product Manager for a Mobile/Device App

  • The App itself could be either sales or service based - its focus of it is less important

  • Must have been an app for a mass consumer audience

  • Able to demonstrate clear examples of stakeholder engagement, where you've had to manage priorities and expectations and been able to communicate often complex information around technical requirements in simple ways

  • Solid understanding of either hybrid or native apps and how they interface with back end information systems

  • Must have the necessary visas to live and work in the UK - sponsorship will not be provided.
