Head of Online Sales / E-Commerce

We're recruiting on behalf of one of the biggest consumer brands within the quad-play telco space, who are looking to appoint a Head of Online Sales to own online trading responsibility for a number of their key consumer services.

Your role will be very much at the trading end of the site, driving sales performance and site conversions.

This role doesn't get involved in anything traffic generation based.

You will be managing a team of 6, all e-commerce managers, who are responsible for execution, with you overseeing the strategy, driving performance and activity of the team itself.

On top of this you will be engaging with very senior stakeholders, reporting and presenting results to Managing Directors and Board members.

This is the sharp end of digital retailing, owning a big budget, leading digital agencies, translating commercial and customer needs into online capabilities, content strategies and web merchandising which deliver the required results.

The area of their digital estate you will be responsible for includes both their core cash-cow service, as well as their rising star.

Through your team, you will oversee all onsite executions, covering new proposition launches, how they're merchandised, the buying journeys, etc.

ensuring they're slick.

Proactively working with your team to identify prospective shortfalls, come up with solutions and ensuring they're delivered and working to ensure targets are successfully achieved.

You're going to be working with a lot of data in this role, it's a big e-commerce estate which attracts millions of customers.

You will be looking to see the story behind this data, identifying the best ways and means to translate site visitors to customers, through also creating virals, sticky and compelling content which demonstrate reasons to buy.

Rate: £60,000 to £70,000

  • E-commerce / Online Merchandising / Online Trading leadership experience, having worked on behalf of high profile consumer retail business, or company which has a large e-commerce estate

  • You've lead teams of e-commerce/online trading/web content professionals - circa 6 people

  • You've been responsible for reporting trading results for your business area.

    Reporting to senior stakeholders, fielding their questions and dealing with challenges as they arise

  • You get what a fast paced business looks like, and can thrive in that kind of environment

  • Online e-tailing is in your blood.

    You get what best in class looks like and have successfully delivered changes which have had tangible results on e-commerce trading to a business

  • You've had experience within digital trading, web content, online merchandising for what would be deemed a big consumer facing business

  • You've handled big budgets for digital development, content, etc.

    and have led agency relationships too
