Travel Tour Planner - Specialist Travel Company Hertfordshire

Are you passionate about travel? A successful specialist travel company is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate tour planner to join their friendly team.

You should ideally have some experience of sales within the travel industry.

This position will be responsible for the successful and profitable planning and operation of all elements of clients' tours throughout the confirmed booking process.

Key Responsibilities:
, Responsible for the day to day planning of all elements of a tour including itinerary planning, customer invoicing, ticketing and final documentation
, Use effective communication skills to build rapport with clients and exceed their expectations
, Ensure accurate, customer friendly documentation is sent to clients and suppliers in a timely manner
, Actively seek out customer feedback and make use of this to constantly improve our services and our customers' ever-changing needs
, Understand the needs of customers and work to simplify the tour booking process wherever possible Maintain a good, up to date knowledge of key visits and optional extras for each destination to add value and margin wherever possible
, Build long term relationships and maximise the retention of clients through excellent customer service and product delivery
, Minimise the impact of issues and implement improvements to ensure they are avoided wherever possible
, Ensure the timely collection of due payments to maximise cash flow
, Awareness of competitor activity
, Care and awareness with regard to the company's Safety Management System and general Health & Safety standards
, Participate in any training, activities or projects on a temporary or ad hoc basis to support the achievement of business aims and objectives
, Visits to suppliers/clients in the UK and Overseas to give you first-hand knowledge of the product
, You will be required to assist with 24 hour duty officer responsibilities on an occasional basis

, Demonstrable experience of meeting and exceeding targets and working to deadlines

, Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
, Accuracy and excellent attention to detail

, Professional Approach
, IT Literate with knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
, Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

, Grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualification / experience
, Full Drivers licence
, Degree educated preferred
, Linguistic capability (French, German, Italian, Spanish) would be an advantage
, Good geographical knowledge
, Travel Industry experience

The Package:
