Gas Contracts Officer

My client, a Housing association based in the North of England are looking for a Permanent Commercial Gas Contracts Officer to join their team.

This is a full time, permanent position and is due to start whenever a suitable candidate can be sourced.

The main responsibilities will be as follows;

As the Commercial Gas Contracts Officer you will be responsible for operating as the “Client” for the Group's commercial gas plant and associated equipment to ensure that effective, value for money, customer focussed servicing, repair and replacement programmes are delivered.

With responsibility for over 120 sites across England, you will ensure that our commercial gas equipment meets all statutory compliance requirements.

This will include ensuring the effective procurement, commissioning, management and monitoring of consultants and contractors to deliver related maintenance and asset investment services.

This is an important role which will suit a skilled Commercial Gas Officer who has significant experience of effectively diagnosing, maintaining, developing and replacing commercial gas plant equipment and is comfortable with setting expectations, auditing contractor's performance and positively challenging service delivery.

You will work closely with the Gas Contracts Manager and the wider Property Services Client Team and related business functions to influence long term investment planning requirements as well as supporting the successful delivery of our Asset Investment Strategy.

This role will be responsible for delivery of services across England and will be based at the Group's regional offices at Leeds or Preston.

Travelling to other offices and operational sites across the country will be required.

The successful candidate will hold the following skills/qaulifications/experience;

GASSAFE Registered and hold relevant technical / commercial gas engineering qualifications to HNC / HND level or equivalent.

Significant proven experience of project managing large scale commercial gas maintenance and planned replacement programmes within large complex organisations.
Experience of undertaking plant condition surveys and operating gas equipment property registers as well as diagnosing and developing appropriate commercial gas specifications to facilitate the delivery of cyclical servicing events and planned investment programmes.

Track record of developing commissioning arrangements as well as possessing strong technical, programme, project, financial and risk management skills including the ability to implement effective auditing of service records and quality monitoring of contractors performance including on site supervision of service delivery.
Thorough understanding of current commercial related gas maintenance and improvement practices, policies, systems and approaches as well as knowledge of gas maintenance health and safety and related statutory obligations
Detailed knowledge of Gas management and related H&S legislation including Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations (1998) and associated standards i.e.

British Standards, IGEM Standards etc - analytical skills and be capable of providing accurate and timely performance reports and appropriate recommendations for project management meetings as well as Operational and Strategic Boards.
