Contract: Full Time Contract 37.5 hours

Salary: 18,361.00-£20,402.00 dependant on experience plus sleep in allowance (progression salary scale once employed)

Overview -Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

This is a full time, permanent vacancy, whereby if you are successful you will be employed directly by the business.

I am recruiting for one of Safehands Recruitments prestigious clients based in the Herefordshire area for a new home that is opening up.

You will be working as part of a large community of specialised workers to support children age 8-18 with a range of learning difficulties, autism, communication difficulties, challenging behaviours and other complex needs within a new spacious residential site.

The students live in small group residential bungalows built around a central courtyard.

The client creates homely environments that provide life skills training as well as having all the home comforts you would expect.

They encourage their students to follow as many family experiences as are practically possible.

This full time permanent vacancy as a Senior Children's Residential Support Worker offers a fantastic salary starting from £18,361.00 with an extensive training package and internal progression

Responsibilities Include: Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

Assisting clients with all aspects of personal care, promoting self-help and independence in-line with care plans and supporting with moving and handling techniques

Managing a small Team

Assisting the administration of medication

Assisting with domestic duties

Supporting clients to access the community

Participate in regular review meetings and risk assessments

Attend and contribute to team meetings

Managing challenging behaviour in a safe and effective manner

To maintain knowledge and operate within current legislation and company polices and procedures

Promote in dependence and develop a trusting relationship with the clients

Maintain confidentiality at all times

Report any concerns that may indicate safety and well being is being compromised

To undertake all mandatory training inline with company policies and procedures

Person Specification - Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

Due to the location of the business and shift patterns, all applicants must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicles

Staff must be flexible with shift patterns, earlies (07.30- 15:30) lates (15:00-22:00) and weekends

You must be confident and competent when support clients with challenging behaviour

NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People Workforce or equivalent

Experience within a Health and Social Care is essential

Experience of supporting a team

All applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and 5 years referencing

This is a full time permanent vacancy based within the Herefordshire area

All of the residential units operate a specific shift pattern, and you will regularly be required to work unsocial hours, weekends and sleep in duties
