Head of Repairs & Maintenance

My client, a housing association based in Surrey is looking for a Head of Repairs and Maintenance to join their team.

This is a full time role for an on going contract and the successful candidate will hold a full UK drivers license as travel will be required.

The main responsibility of the role is to lead the delivery of a first class Repairs Service to customers, ensuring the condition of assets are maintained and improved, and value for money is obtained.

To develop an effective collaborative approach to delivery working in conjunction with customers, housing, customer contact centre, and contractors to ensure the effective management of the clients contracts.

Other duties will be as follows;

Operational responsibility for the management and delivery of the clients Repairs Service, ensuring that it delivers a customer focused first class repairs service.

Ensure the delivery of a value for money service that improves and maintains the conditions of the clients assets and reduce long term maintenance expenditure.
Co-ordinates the delivery of, responsive repairs, voids, cyclical maintenance and major repairs that deliver the objectives outlined above, including the analysis of repairs expenditure to ensure that where possible a planned approach is adopted.

Ensuring a close working relationship and collaborative working with the clients Planned team in relation to planned and cyclical maintenance to ensure that a whole life approach focus is developed for the clients housing stock
Ensuring that the clients Policies, Processes and Procedures are implemented to reflect all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements e.g.

Right to Repair and Homes Standard and best practice.
Ensuring there is comprehensive and up to date information on the delivery and performance of the Repairs Service and effectively manages any risk to delivery.

This will include ensuring data management systems are maintained that will record all works inspected, ordered, completed, including any remedial works and facilitate the effective analysis of these.
Ensure the implementation of the Group's approach to aids and adaptations.
Contribute to the development of an affordable set of standards for the Group's Repairs Service that will deliver the objectives the Group has set.

The successful candidate will hold;

A recognised qualification in a property related discipline HND, degree level qualification or equivalent
Demonstrable knowledge of building construction, building standards, planning regulations, regulatory standards, and leasehold legislation
Demonstrable experience in the planning and delivery of housing maintenance
Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Proven experience in the management of Repairs service
Understanding of Landlord Compliance and servicing requirements
Previous of managing teams of staff, and experience of successfully delivering a similar role within another organisation
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and customers
