SQL Project Engineer

Job Title: Project Engineer
Report to: Technical Manager (TM)

Primary Responsibilities


Our client have a large number of Electric Vehicle charging units installed though a number of regions in the UK.

Part of their responsibility is on-going service support, product development, and technical support.

The roles and responsibilities will be varied and often changing.

Location: Office Based inHemel Hempstead, with some site commissioning and maintenance as required.

Hours of work: 37.5 Hours per week.

09:00 to 17:00 (including ½ hour lunch break).

Qualifications / Education: Reasonable level of general education.

The candidate should have a high standard of language skills.
, A City & Guilds; ONC / HNC; BTec or equivalent - in a relevant field.

Experience Required: Customer contact, project administration, database management, good written and verbal communication, reliable and innovative.
, Have gained at least 3 years working experience in electronic/Networks/IT systems.
, Have a courteous manner and ability to communicate clearly with all levels of customers both internal and external to the business.
, Experience with SCADA industrial control system very desirable.
, Experience with the installation and configuration of IT systems.
, Experience with system interfaces.
, Software Development experience.
, An understanding of SQL Server Database structure and commands.
, The ability to read and understand existing code (additional Languages C#, JAVA, VB.Net, C++, XML).
, An understanding of HTML.
, Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of packages

Skills Required: Pro-active self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative.

The candidate should have a high standard of communication and record keeping skills.

Key Tasks:

Main duties include (which will vary from day to day)
, Provision of technical reports where required.
, Ownership of escalated jobs .
, Identify risk and mitigate were possible.
, Providing technical support for bespoke projects.
, Drive first time fix rate at the point of call though remote diagnosis or customer assistance.
, To attend site to assist with calls/projects/installations as required.
, Providing 2nd line technical support to customers and back office providers.
, Build and maintain strong relationships with back office providers, installation partners and APT Group Companies.
, Support the TM by coordinating outstanding technical related issues with main supplier.
, Support the TM with the division's technical related database management and recording.
, Updating and maintaining all product installation and user manuals.
, Updating and maintaining all product data sheets.
, Design and implementation of SCADA industrial control systems for electric vehicle charging management.
, Software integration of Evolt EV infrastructure with 3rd party systems.
, Provide network support.
, Installation and configuration of IT systems.
, Managing system interfaces.
, Supporting the Service Administrator when needed.

General: To undertake any work of an appropriate nature as directed by the Technical Manager, General Manager or other members of the Management Team.

To maintain a high standard of appearance personally and in all aspects of the operation.
