The successful System Design Engineers will be joining the System Design & Validation team; they are responsible for completing weapon and missile system design activities.
The System Design Engineer will provide technical expertise and focus on both primary development projects and a variety of major sub-system contracts - you will be required to liaise between end customers and supplier on technical issues.
System Design Engineers will be assigned a role which covers the full life-cycle from concept and early phase studies, right through to fully developed programmes and delivering the Weapon System.
, Carrying out technical analysis and investigation to prepare specifications and develop designs
, Performance analysis on a range of systems
, System Architecture (design)
, Validating systems including design and certification
, Maintain and defining design justification records, linking system requirements to sub-system requirements
, Liaising with various teams to ensure proposed designed adhere to specifications
, Perform analysis and performance checks on scale models of full systems
, Ideally degree qualified in a relevant field - Mechanical/Electronic/Materials Engineering etc.
, Experience working in a Systems Engineering environment and therefore understanding of system processes within engineering projects
, Highly adaptable approach to work, be able to consider all constraints in proposal stages
, Motivated and pro-active
, An enthusiasm to develop world leading technologies and drive projects
, Good understanding of processes such as SysML
, DOORS experience
, Knowledge of Weapon Systems/experience in this field
, Be able to produce and analyse technical data in a timely manner
, Systems Engineering activities such as requirements capture/approval through to planning and certification
, Experience in the safety aspects associated with weapons and munitions
