Assistant Management Accountant

Duties to include:

Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and underlying records to include:
- Control account reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations
- Raising sales invoices
- Processing of period end journals
- Ensuring that all administrative and support tasks are completed in a timely manner.

- Assisting with the updating, posting and reconciliation of sales return information.

- Assist with monitoring and reporting of direct costs and overheads, working with the team to highlight variances from budget.

- Assisting with preparation and submission of VAT returns, including monthly VAT processing and submitting payments to HMRC.

- Assist with the completion of end of year reconciliations and reports, budget preparation and assisting with administrative tasks where necessary to ensure that deadlines for completion of accounts are met.

- Assisting with processing additions, transfers and disposals of assets, updating information on a monthly basis to ensure depreciation charges are calculated accurately and that underlying records are kept up to date.

- To perform such additional / alternative activities as your manager may reasonably request.

Skills/Experience Required:

- Previous experience within an accounts environment
- Previous experience using JD Edwards and/or SAGE would be beneficial
- Hardworking, committed and able to work under pressure
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ambitious to progress

Start: ASAP
Hours: Full Time
Salary: £20,000 - £23,000
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
