Construction Manager

A new role has arisen with young bespoke residential developer based in Surrey who are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join their expanding business.

They are a design driven company who don't have a house type - they have a strong technical team and work closely with architects on each and every project providing a truly bespoke finished product.

Established in 2011, projects to date generally have been high end traditional build houses, but with lots of projects in the pipeline they are expanding their scope of works; hence the need for a new Construction Manager.

The Construction Manager will take overall control of the construction phase of all developments.

The job will include co-ordinating and supervising the site managers with projects located in Berkshire, Surrey (and one site in Suffolk) but the company is expanding fast with other sites in the pipeline, mostly in the Home Counties.

It will involve working closely with the technical and commercial teams taking responsibility for all aspects of planning, programming and managing all activities to ensure that contracts are delivered on time, to the required standards, within budget.

While the companies head office is located near Woking in Surrey, the role will require significant travel between sites and a certain level of flexibility will be required as part of the role.

You will ideally have a recent Site Management background on house building projects, and being responsible for programming and organising resources, you should have a relevant construction, trade or professional qualification such as HNC/HND in building, a construction related degree, NHBC Accreditation Programme or similar.

A sound knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and legislation, including CDM regulations and risk assessments is also an essential requirement for this role.

You will have ideally attended the Planning Supervisors training course and as this role entails the use of software packages and access to the internet via PC's or laptops, you should also be conversant in the use of computers.

Under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), the Construction Manager will require a black Manager CSCS Card and will ideally have or be working towards Contracts Manager NVQ 5.

In return you can expect a very competitive salary, with car allowance, fuel card, opportunities for personal and professional growth and 25 days paid holiday.
