Retail Development Manager

Job Title: Retail Development Manager
Job Purpose: To advise members on how to maximise the benefits, services and facilities provided by the Group
Reports to: Retail Controller
Location: Field Based
Type: Permanent
Salary: £30-35k

Key Result Areas:

, To deliver the Business Unit KPI's.

, To drive excellent retail store standards & identify areas where retailers need to improve their execution and put in place mutually beneficial business development plans.

, To inform members of their adherence/loyalty towards company terms and conditions and facilitating mutual improvements as required.

, To manage and develop own territory.

, To develop sustainable & commercially beneficial relationships with engaged members and our internal staff.

, To achieve and maintain professional standards across all aspects of the role in respect of work undertaken, and deal with staff at all levels of the business in a manner appropriate to their needs.

Job Knowledge:

, Established track record of driving sales.

, Experience of commercial management within the convenience food retail/wholesale sector.

, Experience in delivering and exceeding KPI's for recruitment, sales growth and retention of business.

, Good working knowledge of MS office packages.

, Ideally knowledge of company Retail's activities, business objectives and member support operations.

Main Responsibilities:

, To deliver the area KPI's as set by Retail Controller for recruitment, retention, sales growth and profitability in a challenging fast paced retail environment.

, Provide practical advice on business management and development using operational experience in the commercial arena.

, Provide guidance to members on all aspects of Group administration, terms and services - and ensure compliance with membership level trading disciplines, assisting with problem resolution as necessary.

, Manage own territory, including administration; providing detailed member meeting reports, diary planning submission, analysing statistics and providing commentary to set timescales.

, Work within set budgetary controls
, Carry out other adhoc project work as directed by Retail Controller or Business Unit Director.

Person Specification:


, Field sales experience - multi site environment.

, Retail background, ideally from the Food /Convenience store sector.

, Previous business improvement experience through sales/margin/cost management or development.

, Good understanding of food compliance.


, Excellent Communication skills - written, verbal.

, IT Literate competent in MS office packages
