Production Planner

Production Planner
£24-28,000 per annum
Monday to Friday 8.15am – 4.30pm

The Candidate

Your skills, experiences and attributes will include…

  • An understanding of the end to end Supply Chain
  • A commercial awareness of the consequences of decisions
  • A total commitment to customer service reflecting a “will do” rather than “can do” attitude with focus on delivery in a complex environment
  • A practical, hands on approach with high level of analytical skills
  • An ability to build strong relationships with all Supply Chain functions across cultures and geographical regions
  • Ideally a Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent but this is not essential
  • Self motivation with a positive attitude to work and the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Highly organized approach, accurate with high level of attention to detail
  • High level of PC skills (Excel/Access) – spreadsheet skills are critical and candidates must be able to use analytical tools to manipulate data

The Role

The purpose of this role is to provide timely and accurate manufacturing plans to internal and external customers/vendors ensuring compliance to those plans in order to support and improve delivery performance, customer value and optimize manufacturing capacity.  Other duties will include…

  • Monitor supply chain activities; communicate exceptions to all relevant functions within the business and co-ordinate resolution of these exceptions and other generic problems.
  • Ensure compliance to the delivery plan to support customer needs
  • Devise and issue plans incorporating all relevant information for both internal and external vendors/sub-contractors to satisfy customer needs
  • Ensure manufacturing sites loaded in a timely manner to meet customer needs and optimize capacity
  • Co-ordinate resolution of supply problems with relevant business areas focusing on customer requirements
  • Ensure that all Planning systems are updated appropriately ready for use by the planning department
  • Communication of changes in a timely manner to the customer and other related functions
  • Issue monthly forecasts and levels of demand to internal and external vendors in order to secure ongoing capacity
  • Monitor all performance against plans
  • Review of conformance to forecast and feedback on significant exceptions
  • Co-ordinate and maintain stock levels to meet service/finance criteria for given portfolio
  • Manage consigned inventory program
