Production Manager

The Role

As the Production Manager you will:
, Manage all aspects concerning the Retail Pack Operations, Production and staffing including:
Facing challenges and seeking cost efficient improvements without compromising quality or safety
Ensuring targets are met and that production runs smoothly
, Manage and report on production KPI's
, Be fully accountable for operations in order to produce high quality products on time and to specification
, Be responsible for the training and development of staff
, Identify, develop and recommend improvements and cost savings and be the driving force in ensuring measurable action plans are in place so that improvements will be seen.
, Ensuring the adherence of all employees to the Good Manufacturing policy as detailed in the Food Safety and Quality Manual.
, Ensuring that those critical control points specified in the HACCP file as being the responsibility of the Production Manager are adhered to at all times, and that the appropriate paperwork is completed accurately either personally or by Supervisors and Operatives.
, Liaise with the maintenance personnel to ensure that all break-down maintenance tasks are performed immediately to minimise the production line down-time.
, Liaise with the production team to ensure that the correct materials and line settings are used for each product to conform to legislative, Food Safety and customer's specification.
, Ensure all labels are produced accurately and timely to avoid double handling and potential mislabelling.
, The security of the site and products is an integral function of this job role.
, To carry out any other reasonable requests that help drive the business forward.

The Person

To be successful in the role of Production Manager you will have the following skills and experience:
, At least 5-years experience of meat production for retail as a Production Supervisor/Manager.
, Experience of effectively managing and driving change
, Experience in coaching and developing teams is essential
, Knowledge and experience working with BRC accredited products is essential
, A level 3 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing is required as well as a working knowledge of HACCP

The Package

In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience) and an industry leading benefits package.
