Project Manager

We are looking for someone with a construction project management background, preferably with Leisure industry experience, for a permanent Project Manager position in Manchester.

The role is to manage the build of a pilot leisure facility and then to roll out further repeat facilities across the country, as part of a young and vibrant team.

Salary of £31-36.8K per annum plus 22 days holiday, laptop, iPad and mileage allowance.

Working as the successful Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility to deliver installations and you will have Architect, QS and Engineering support.

You will have Commercial experience / understanding, with some Project Management and Business Development experience.

Leisure industry sales and development experience would be ideal, but this is not essential.

You will be experienced and disciplined in delivering projects on time and on budget; you will be comfortable managing and recruiting cross functional teams of internal and external stakeholders; and you will understand the importance of customer relations, communication and effective networking.

The role requires flexibility, operational expertise and travel throughout the UK.

Specific responsibilities:

*Project manage the program to build and operate leisure facilities.

*Build and maintain effective professional relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the project goals and objectives are achieved.

*Create and execute an accurate project plan.

*Work with the MD to negotiate with land property agents.

*Manage all administration and legal contracts with the support of the MD.

*Manage project implementation ensuring the project meets agreed targets - on budget and within agreed timescales.

*Prepare and maintain all project documentation, including project briefs, project schedules, project logs and project reports.

*Work with branding agency to manage the role out.

*Collaborate with the branding and geo-analytics teams to understand the current market trends, develop brand awareness and generate marketing initiatives.

*Inform partners and raise awareness of the project locally, regionally and nationally using effective communications across a variety of media.

*Hold regular project meetings with the cross-functional project team including the in house design and build team to ensure the project stays on track.

*Continually assess the project plan and evaluate and communicate adjustments where necessary.

*Liaise with the Finance Manager ensuring clarity on payment schedules for the project.

*To support the Managing Director on the future business strategy for the project, maintaining a sales driven focus in support of marketing initiatives, raising awareness and proactively generating new business opportunities.

*To effectively network with key partners to the business, identifying and building successful links in the industry.

Person specification:

*Direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.

*Experience within the leisure industry is desirable.

*Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

*Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

*Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

*Flexible during times of change.

*Practical and solutions minded approach to problem solving.

*Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

*Persuasive, encouraging and motivating.

*Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.

*Able to define and deliver operational key performance indicators, and able to confidently articulate these to others.

*Demonstrate a determined and committed approach to quality of standards.

*Experience of developing commercial strategies and engaging others in support to ensure an effective operational delivery.

*Ability to manage budgets effectively.

*Strong written and oral communication and numeracy skills.

*Outstanding interpersonal skills to support effective working relationships at all levels internally and externally.

*Able to effectively plan and track project progress using a range of tools and methodologies.

*Advanced user of Microsoft Office in particular Excel.

*Knowledge of swimming pools and/or CAD would be an advantage.

*Educated to A level standard or equivalent.
