Job description:

Core-Asset Consulting's client, an award winning Scottish Law Firm in Edinburgh, has an opportunity for a Solicitor to join its Commercial Litigation department on a permanent basis.

You will be NQ up to 2 years post qualified and will act on behalf of clients in the resolution of disputes, including conducting cases in the Sheriff Court, Court of Session, disciplinary panels and through alternative dispute resolution methods.


  • Scottish qualified solicitor with up to two years' post qualifying experience.

  • Ability to work well as an individual and as part of a team.

  • Effectively manage your time and meet prescribed deadlines.

  • Willing to appear in Court and before tribunals at substantive hearings and to meet existing and prospective clients.

  • Be technically proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Knowledge of or interest in insolvency law, licensing, contentious intellectual property work and commercial disputes is preferred, but not essential.

Core responsibilities:

  • Ability to take statements, attend consultations, draft pleadings, instruct expert witnesses, appear in the Sheriff Court and before disciplinary panels, and prepare cases for proofs/debates.

  • Provide clear commercial advice to clients.

  • Carry out work for clients in contractual, intellectual property, professional negligence regulatory matters, licencing and commercial disputes.

  • Assist in business development activities.

  • Look for opportunities and develop firm's commercial litigation business.
