Physiotherapist - Band 6 - Respiratory and Care of the Elderly

Physiotherapist - Band 6 - Respiratory and Care of the Elderly - East London - £26-28 per hour

We are currently looking for a band 6 physiotherapist to work in a respiratory and care of the elderly team in an acute hospital in Newham, east London.

The ideal physiotherapist will have a good understanding of acute hospital physiotherapy, ideally having completed a band 5 hospital rotation as a physiotherapist.

Experience of respiratory medicine and care of the elderly is essential.

Familiarity of EPR Referral system would be beneficial.

The role is to start from 3rd October to cover current caseloads until a permanent physiotherapist can be recruited.

The locum role is initially for 3 months but is highly likely to extend.

The current team work a rota of 8am to 4pm and 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

No car or driving license required as all hospital based.

The successful physiotherapist will have experience of…

- Specialist acute assessment and early rehabilitation for patients following a injury or insult
- Assisting in the supervision and education of student and junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy support workers;
- Writing patient case notes and reports and collect statistics;
- Educating patients and their carers about how to prevent and/or improve conditions;
- Keeping up to date with new techniques and technologies available for treating patients;
- Liaising with other healthcare professionals to exchange information about the background and progress of patients, as well as to refer patients who require other medical attention;
- Managing clinical risk.

As a Physiotherapist, you MUST be:

- HCPC registered
- Eligible to work in the UK
