H.R. Advisor

Our Client based in Twickenham require a H.R.

Advisor to join team for a 6 month period.


Generalist HR

  • Support the HR Manager and Head of HR in advising and supporting managers on a range of generalist HR issues including;

    • disciplinary and grievances,

    • performance improvement and people management problems

    • restructuring and organisational change

    • Occupational Health referrals

    • TUPE projects

    • implementation of HR policies and procedures

    • Take notes and advise in disciplinary or grievance panels as a memberHR Projec

    • Provide administrative and practical support to the Staff Engagement and Investors in People projects as delegated by the project team leadersTrainin

    • Support the L&D manager in course administration, including booking rooms, liaising with external trainers, sending out joining instructions and keeping the training database up to date Recruitment

  • Provide help & support to the Recruitment Officer in advertising vacant posts, screening c.v's, writing interview questions and sitting in with recruiting managers on interviews.

  • Assist in the new starter process including drawing up contracts from templates, entering data in the HR system and providing details to payroll

    • Assist in managing agency preferred suppliers for Recruitment

    • Prepare agendas and attend Trade Union meetings as note taker

    • Responsible for the management of employee data and regular reporting on HR statistics.

  • Take the lead on Data Protection matters for the HR function.


    • Sound knowledge and experience of advising on disciplinary, dismissals and grievances, ideally in a unionised environment

    • Solid understanding of up to date employment law and ACAS guidelines.

      (Experience with TUPE is desirable)

    • Good knowledge of recruitment tools and techniques and a genuine enthusiasm for this aspect of HR.

    • Excellent writing skills, able to carefully craft emails, reports and outcomes of disciplinary or grievance hearings into concise, readable documents with an appropriate tone.

    • Part of full CIPD qualified preferred

  • Solid PC Skills including knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word & Excel

Experience in an organisation of a similar size i.e.

2000+ staff with a devolved HR structure.

  • Psychometric qualification e.g.

  • Pragmatic, sensible and able to assess business risks in relation to HR issues - can ‘speak the language' of the business and provide commercially focused advice and make sound decisions.

  • Approachable and friendly; able to build strong working relationships based on trust and respect.

  • Persuasive and diplomatic with good influencing skills, able to adapt personal style to different situations and individuals.

  • A positive ‘can do' attitude

  • Able to manage a busy, varied workload and prioritise work delegated from a number of different people
