Project Manager - Structural
Our client, is a large long established developer.
They are involved in a huge development East London / Docklands area which will comprise a residential led, mixed use, waterside community.
There will be over 3000 new homes and around 2m sq ft of office space, plus shops, restaurants and community areas.
There will be a number of buildings involved in this project.
They now seek a PROJECT MANAGER with a STRUCTURAL engineering background to work closely with the Senior Project Manager.
You will need proven experience of construction and design within fast track construction and complicated high value building projects.
You must be able to analyse and interpret drawings (technical and architectural), specifications and bills of quantities.
You must be competent in assessing and commenting on the adequacy of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
You will need to be commercially and contractually aware and have good coordination skills with regards to labour resources, procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.
You must have experience of preparing and analysing tenders and be full familiar with modern procurement processes.
You will develop the scope of work for the structural Package, discharge responsibilities for Health and Safety, develop a list of tenderers for review and approval of management in accordance with the company procedures, review tenders including any mid-tender meetings, anticipate to technical and commercial negotiations and prepare recommendations for award, advise unsuccessful tenderers of the status and archive processed tender documents, conduct the pre-start kick off meeting with the appointed contractor and advise the contractor on the standard procedures to be followed in terms of Logistics, Health & Safety, Environmental Issues, Document control, Quality etc., ensure the contractor submits all documents and drawings in accordance with the programme, ensure all contractor's submittals are distributed and reviewed by the relevant parties including consultants, regulatory authorities, ensure the design consultant respond as required to requests for information in accordance with the procedures, ensure that the contractor's work is supervised and inspected for quality and completion, ensure that contractor submits all records and certificates as required in the contract and quality documents in accordance with the programme, ensure the handover of completed work in accordance with the construction programme and maintain records, assist the Cost Manager in the regular valuation of work, assist in the management of the interface between the various trade contractors, ensure the contractor provides the necessary information for the O&M manuals, As Built Drawings and Health & Safety file, prepare a final report on the structural package etc.
You will have a relevant Structural Engineering Degree and ideally be MIStructE, MICE, MAPM or similarly qualified.
Salary to £75K plus benefits
