Job Title: Tech Support Engineer (Field & Office Based)
Location: London and Home Counties
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 neg + great benefits, company car, overtime

I am currently recruiting for a well established Telecommunication Company who is looking for a Field Tech Support Engineer to report directly to the Head of Engineering in all aspects of installations and maintenance.

The ideal candidate will perform a flexible role in both maintaining the installations of the company’s database predominately in the South.

Given this is a field based role, you will need to be able to work from home providing Tech Desk support between jobs and possibly on a rotational basis advising customers on general matters and remote diagnostics of faults and resolution of the same.


Roles and Responsibilities:

- Plan in advance, where you are the following day and what you may need.
- Liaise in a timely manner with the installation and service team.
- Introduce yourself immediately to the site contact once arriving on site, be polite and courteous and listen to what the customer wishes to achieve and plan how to achieve this in the most efficient manner.
- Responsible for completing job sheets with customers sign off and email to the admin/service team immediately in order the job can be closed down, invoiced if required and called the next day for verification.
- Call in once the job has been completed in order the teams are aware and can allocate the next job as necessary.
- When on tech desk, prioritise calls, liaise with managers and manage communication with customers.
- Contribute to the quarterly engineers meetings.
- Keep accreditations up to date.

Skills Required:

- Must be able to interact confidently with customers (by telephone and face to face).
- Ability to communicate at all levels (and translate technical data into layman’s terms).
- The holder of this position must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and working as part of a team with a common goal being key attributes in assisting the company to succeed in the delivery of complex voice solutions.
- The ability to work as part of a team, with a common goal.
- An ability to solve problems in a logical manner, thereby rectifying customer issues speedily and efficiently.
- The ability and drive to learn and work with new technologies and products as required.

Essential Qualifications and Experience Required:

- Hosted Telephony on any platform
- Mitel MiVoice 250 with Apps

Knowledge of the Following is desirable:

- Siemens / Unify HiPath PBX
- Mitel MiVoice 400

Other Information:
This role will require occasional out of hours and weekend working.
