Graduate Design Engineer (Ideally with some Industry Experience)

Who we are

My client is a small engineering practice base in North Wales.

They cover a diverse range of project types and sizes, and are looking to employ new technical staff to complement our existing staff.

What we're looking for

A self-motivated graduate with a good grounding is all aspects of Civil and Structural Engineering, with the ability to work on your own initiative and the aptitude to learn and adapt.

You will also need to be able to work as part of the design team, be able to produce designs for various structural forms and in a range of structural materials and be conversant with AutoCAD.

What you will do

As a graduate engineer you'll work alongside senior/chartered engineers on a variety of different projects, including domestic extensions/new builds, civils and drainage works and infrastructure projects.

You will be working for a range of clients, such as home owners, land developers, Network Rail and The National Trust.

Your responsibilities will include:
, Producing tender-stage designs & fee proposals

, Undertaking designs to comply with applicable standards and procedures

, Co-ordination in the design process with the Client and Architects

, Carrying out structural surveys and inspections and compiling reports

What we will do

You will be mentored by Chartered Civil and Structural Engineers to help you learn about all aspects of construction engineering.

We will work with you to help you become a confident, capable engineer, and, if you are looking to become Chartered yourself, we will provide you with the experience necessary to put yourself forward for either of the ICE or IStructE reviews.
