Residential support worker

Salary -£7.80ph sleep inn allowance of £32

Hours - 40 per week including sleep in duties

Location - Shrewsbury

Situated in a beautiful rural location within 4 miles of the large town of Shrewsbury, we are become a leading resource in the UK for children and young people with Asperger's Syndrome, ADD and ADHD.

We promise a long established, successful and important option for children with a range of difficulties within the Autistic Spectrum of Disorders.

The school specialises in integrating young people with Asperger's syndrome and their associated vulnerability and/or challenging behaviour.

With the support of the school's parent company.

This position offers progression on to further qualifications, the level 3 NVQ in children and young peoples workforce.

Summary of Job Purpose

To provide the highest quality of care and support as part of the professional team, to the children accommodated at the home, under the supervision of the Registered Manager and in accordance with the policies drawn up by the company.

To act as a key worker to specific children and young people

To promote structure, boundaries and domestic routines with the home environment

Working in line with children and young people's care and placement plans

Promoting positive outcomes for children and young people in line with the Framework for the Inspection of Children's Homes.

To work in accordance with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards and co-operate with any inspection process

Provide a positive role model for young people, presenting yourself in a highly professional manner

Work in partnership with other agencies to the benefit of the young people

Participate in, and complete reports for, statutory reviews and meetings concerning the young people

Undertake relevant training programmes as required by the Children's Home Regulations and Quality Standards.
