General Manager / Senior Hotel Contractor / DMC

A forward thinking and ambitious destination management company, is seeking a like minded, head of contracting or general manager, with strong incoming travel experience.

Role Purpose:
Responsible for the management of a full-service DMC for the UK and Europe.

Clients will be 3rd parties from the Middle East and Asia.

The DMC provides a wide range of contracted hotels and services.

The DMC also needs to provide a portfolio of concierge services, with clients ranging from resident international students through to visiting leisure and corporate clients.

, Formulate the strategy and deliver a plan for the operation and evolution of the DMC as specified.

, Execute the plan in the specified time-frame.

, Build and lead a team of capable Travel Professionals
, Understand the key source markets and clients and have the skill to sell into those markets

, Ability to contract and sub contract operational services in accommodation, transport, meet & greet services and concierge services across the DMC region
, Perfect delivery of services for clients including in-house Tour Operators, Students, MICE, TMC's and Leisure operators
, Source competitive, new and cutting edge product for clients enabling them to succeed in their source markets
, Provide a 24/7 response cover

, Expert negotiator ensuring that despite tight margins the DMC is able to secure highly competitive rates and pass onto clients
, Careful planning and cost control ensuring the DMC can operate within budgetary constraints
Commercial individual who can create a highly profitable company in a highly competitive area

· A strong influencer who can work well on their own, as part of a group and senior manager.

· Strong Sales and Marketing skills and able to create long lasting and multi-layered relationships with clients as well as with key suppliers across the region

, Full Profit & Loss responsibility and reporting to senior management board level.

, Strong background in hotel and ground service contracting.

, Good analytical and problem solving skills
, A team player and a self-starter comfortable taking responsibility
, Strong communication and presentation skills, report writing and bid drafting
, Extensive experience of writing high quality market related reports and presenting project material
, Able to think strategically, prioritise and plan effectively while balancing competing demands

, A willingness to travel and work overseas (sometimes at short notice) as required
, Numerate and analytical with thorough understanding of using relevant management information and IT applications

, DMC or Bed Bank experience at a senior level ideally within UK & Europe
, First hand knowledge of relative product
, Knowledge of Reservation Systems and API interfaces
, Understanding of concierge sector and ability to provide requisite services
, Experience of working with clients and suppliers from different areas of the globe, particularly the GCC.

, Extensive experience in establishing project scoping, contractual and financial management and managing complex multi-disciplinary projects including stakeholders
, Proven track record of compliance with external legislative procedures and directives
, Educated to degree level or equivalent
