Nursery Manager

Position: Nursery Manager
Location: East Bedfordshire
Hours: Full time
Contract length: Permanent
Starting salary: Up to £25,000/annum, with annual reviews

We are delighted to be partnered with a rapidly growing, 52 place day nursery located in East Bedfordshire, who have an opportunity for an experienced Nursery Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

The nursery is situated on a large plot which provides ample space for free-flow outdoor play in the well maintained gardens, as well as indoor play within the bright and secure nursery playrooms.

Split into 3 areas, inside the nursery children's needs are met according to their age and stage of development, by a team of key carers who utilise the 7 areas of learning within the EYFS to plan rich and challenging activities in consultation with children's parents.

The nursery is well resourced and the children enjoy being able to pursue their individual interests, safe in the knowledge that their key workers are on hand to offer sensitive words of encouragement and praise.

Regular trips to the local woods are included within the children's weekly routine, providing fantastic opportunities to explore the natural world around them, embracing forest school learning.

Children's speech and language is given a high priority in terms of focus, with qualified expertise coming from the Nursery Owner to really promote this area of development for children of all ages within the nursery.

There is an experienced senior team in place, who set high standards and whom really nurture and inspire team members to be positive role models to the children in their care.

With two Deputies and Room Leaders in place, the appointment of a new Nursery Manager will only strengthen the great efforts already practised across the nursery.

As the successfully appointed Nursery Manager you will work closely with the Nursery Owner and the group's Area Manager to maintain great care and education for the children, excellent partnerships for the parents, and a second-to-none work place for your team.

Your role will be supernumerary, with a focus on staff and children; support is in place to keep abreast of the paperwork that comes with the territory.

Previous Nursery Manager experience is essential for this role, as is at least a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.

Recent Safeguarding, Behaviour Management and SEN training are all highly desirable.

You will bring exemplary leadership qualities, the ability to inspire others, and a desire to reflect and make action plans to support development (staff and practice).

You will have an approach which is not only pro-active and positive, but also supportive and nurturing.

As the Nursery Manager at this wonderful nursery, your key responsibilities will include:

* Leading your team through positive role modelling and hands-on management

* Conducting regular peer-on-peer observations and one-one staff supervisions to ensure your team members feel supported and motivated

* Reflecting on practice and working in partnership with the Owner and Area Manager to write and implement original and effective action plans which promote high standards of care

* Embedding a shared vision across the nursery with the aim to solidify harmony and togetherness across the team

* Being involved in the recruitment of staff as the need arises, supporting induction and minimising staff turnover

* Developing positive partnerships with parents, arranging show-arounds, taking phone calls and being on hand to answer questions

* Marketing the nursery within the local area, steadily increasing occupancy and developing nursery's positive reputation

* Forging links within the local community and with other professionals, including local pre-schools and schools in order to support children's transitions

With a starting salary of up to £25,000/annum, regular team meetings and managerial meetings with Head Office, childcare discount, opportunities for on-going CPD support and training, as well as an array of other lovely benefits, this is a great opportunity, so don't miss out! Please send your CV across to our Bedfordshire Early Years Consultant, Claire, for immediate consideration.
