Assistant Accountant

Leading global technology organisation is seeking an Assistant Accountant for their offices in Weybridge

The purpose of the role is to ensure the company runs cost effectively by processing and analysing all costing for the UK business as a whole, ensuring that all budgets are adhered to by all departments, thus ensuring the company in generating maximum profits.

To ensure a swift and accurate closing on a monthly basis to guarantee that reporting is produced in a timely manner.

To provide adequate and concise management account reports as requested by HQ and UK Managers/Directors.


  • Meeting internal reporting deadlines

  • Assisting department manager for the month end closing

  • Preparing month end journals and accruals

  • Liaise with other departments to get month end accruals with supporting documents

  • Vendor data management

  • Account reconciliations and invoicing

  • Inter company cost distribution /claims to be made before month end

  • Reconciliation of payroll journals and accruals

  • Archiving of month end journals

  • Purchase Ledger

  • BS accounts

  • Assisting Reconciliation of accruals with PL and BS

  • Fixed Asset management

  • Periodic accounts analysis and reporting

  • Audit support

  • Any other adhoc duties as required by the Department

To organise and manage all accounting documentation including processes, procedures, and invoices.

To ensure asset preservation is maintained for all equipment and documentation in the Finance and Accounting Department.

Other ad-hoc finance related duties

Personal Attributes Demonstrable experience in a similar finance role

Behaviours MS Office Skills, in particular Excel (v-look up and pivot tables) and PowerPoint

Competencies Fluent communication skills (verbal and written) in English

Skills Excellent interpersonal skills

Good networking skills and abilities

Good organisational and administration skills & attributes

Highly focused and capable of sustaining a fast pace in a dynamic environment

A self-starter, able to work with little or no supervision and direction

Experience of working within a performance management environment - KPIs and Service Level Agreements

Able to be flexible and develop quality, customer-focused targets and service
