2nd Line Support Engineer
We require a 2nd Line Support Engineer responsible for providing end user support.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Support, Operations and the Administration of business-critical servers and services at production, test & DR sites.
Desktop systems (Windows 7/8/10)
Email Systems (MS Exchange/Cisco IronPort, Mimecast)
File and Database Servers (Windows 2003-2012, SQL, Oracle)
Endpoint Security (Sophos)
Internet Access (Websweeper/Bloxx)
Remote Access (Citrix/Global Protect/VPN)
Messaging Gateway (SAA Reims)
Document Imaging (Kofax)
Voice Systems (Mitel 3300 and Call Guard Call Recording)
Mobile & Remote Devices (Blackberry, Tablets, Good, MDM)
Backup Software (Arcserve, Backup Exec, Veeam)
Remote Control Software (Dameware, VNC, RDP)
Cloud & Virtualization (VMware)
Desktop software to include:
Microsoft Office, Office 365, Visio, Project, IE, Chrome, Outlook, FTP client,
Anti-Virus and End Point Protection
Log and resolve 2nd line support incidents on applications, networks, servers, workstations, printers and mobile devices.
The processing of software releases in line with the Company's change control procedures.
To identify and resolve hardware and software issues on desktop PC systems.
To ensure general support is provided to end users, departments and external companies.
Ensure adequate virus protection at all times for all data transfers to and from the network.
To take responsibility for the 'health', performance and maintenance of the company local and wide area network infrastructure hardware including servers.
To assist with the maintenance of all equipment, systems, user software, documentation and the functionality and appearance of the computer/communications room.
Assist in the testing and development of new systems and to provide technical support during their implementation.
To provide general support for communications hardware (telephones, routers, modems etc).
To assist with the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, procedures and information.
To develop a knowledge of the hardware and operating systems running the Company's computer systems consistent with the above responsibilities.
To ensure that the buildings and systems are secure at all times in line with company security procedures, special care to be taken when working outside of normal office hours.
You will need:
Extensive commercial experience in a technical support role using Windows based server technology.
Experience of managing and administering the updates of Anti-Virus and Windows patches on desktops and servers.
