Assistant Manager - Conference and Events in Stratford-upon-Avon

Salary: £20000 + incentives

Position: Full time

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Conference and Event Manager / Assistant F&B Manager to lead and run the C&B, meeting and function operations for the property.

Working in collaboration with the F&B Manager to maintain brand standards, maximize revenue and provide impeccable service to improve service and customer satisfaction.

The hotel offers a variety of space for meeting, conference and function up to 160 people.

The main duties will be:

  • Responsible for the smooth running of conferences and events.
  • You will oversee the set up of the conference space, ensuring that all equipment and premises are clean and to standard
  • Train and develop a team of supervisor and assistant
  • Manages and motivates the C&B team in order to provide a high standard of service for customers
  • Oversee function, meetings and operation across the department
  • Ensure delivery of event is as per customer requirements
  • Maintain and improve Company standards of performance
  • Collaboration with the F&B Manager and General Manager to constantly improve the Hotel service, guest satisfaction and Team development.

Technical Skills

  • Good knowledge of Micros and Opera (PMS)
  • Health and Safety
  • Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures.
  • Ensure that all emergency procedures are rehearsed implemented and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 2 years at Junior Management level within conference or F&B Management
  • Basic financial responsibility for current department
  • Well organised, outgoing & service minded 
  • Ability to multitask & troubleshoot throughout the department 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Well presented at all times 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, articulate and confident communicator 
  • Handles pressure calmly and professionally 
  • Thrives on working in a fast-paced and energetic environment 
  • “Can do” attitude 
  • Be able to priorities duties
  • Ability to deal with guest disputes
  • Good leadership skills
  • Maintain good time- keeping
