Job description:

Core- Asset Consulting's client, a leading global financial services firm, are looking for a Regulatory Strategic Change Controller, to join their team in Glasgow for an initial temporary contract of 6 months.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting across PRA and Fed regulated jurisdictions.

Core responsibilities:

  • Report Basel III Investments in Financial Institutions Exposures to both PRA and Federal Reserve

  • Report UK Market Risk Capital Requirements for PRA

  • Report UK and US Securitisation Capital Requirements

  • Backfill for Reporting of Credit Risk Capital Requirements as required

  • Review and escalation of Data Quality issues

  • Support Change the Bank Project Initiatives by assisting with requirements gathering and UAT

  • Analyse movements and provide commentary

  • Communicate drivers of material movements and liaise with other teams to understand root cause

  • Work with relevant stakeholders to optimise Capital numbers where appropriate

  • Build effective relationships with Information Technology, Global Capital and Balance Sheet Management, Legal Entity Controllers, Corporate Treasury, and Regulatory Colleagues

  • Streamline processes and seek ways to improve integration with other teams

  • Identify, escalate and co-ordinate resolution of issues

  • Work alongside the regulatory projects team to share knowledge

  • Drive the prioritisation of future developments as well as test releases prior to going live


  • Demonstrate a rounded commercial approach to reporting and controllership

  • Proven skills in investigating issues to discover root causes, and be confident in managing relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders and business areas

  • Hold an Accounting /Finance/Mathematical degree or equivalent, and have an understanding of the Regulatory framework

  • Relevant work experience in the financial services industry (regulatory reporting, financial and product control, liquidity, treasury)

  • Microsoft Excel skills and be proficient in data mining and summarising and presenting themes and results

  • Knowledge of financial products which are used in the financial services industry, such as Equity Swaps, and an awareness of the issues would be preferred
