Senior Quantity Surveyor

FINTEC recruit is looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our construction client based in Belfast.

This is a permanent position with a salary range of £30k - £31k, depending on experience.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the management of projects, budget preparation and estimates, progress reports, final account preparation, client interaction and attending various design team / site meetings.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include the following:-

  • Liaising with and reporting to the Quantity Surveying Director, the Project Director and the Contracts Manager

  • Developing and maintaining client relationships

  • Attending regular site meetings as a representative of the company

  • Reviewing tender enquiries and taking care of tender analysis for projects

  • Estimating and tendering for projects

  • Negotiating new projects and fixed price premiums

  • Monitoring of contra charges

  • Processing fortnightly / monthly sub-contractor payment certificates

  • Final account preparations at the end of the project

  • Cost monitoring and reporting

  • Cash flow forecasting for projects


The successful candidate for the Senior Quantity Surveyor role will have:-

  • A Degree in Quantity Surveying

  • A proven track record in dealing with Subcontractors and Clients in relation to Valuations, Variations, Final Accounts and cost reporting

  • A thorough understanding of specifications, bills of quantities, and drawings

  • High capability of extracting quantities from drawings and issuing enquiries to sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure that accurate quotations are received within specified time frames

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and other Quantity Surveying Packages (Billsoft)

  • A Proven track record in Commercial / Industrial Projects

  • Excellent budgetary responsibility

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to provide and explain accurate reporting

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities at a given time

  • An ability to work successfully as a part of a team with different types of individuals demonstrating effective interpersonal skills
