Job description:

Core-Asset Consulting's client, an Investment Manager in Edinburgh, has an opportunity for a Learning and Development Assistant to join its Human Resources department on a permanent basis.

Reporting to a Learning Consultant, you will be required to provide effective and efficient administrative support to the Learning and Development team, whilst ensuring a first class service delivery to the business.


  • Previous administration experience within an office environment

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, excel, and Outlook)

  • Proven organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to manage high volumes of work, meeting required deadlines whilst maintaining quality output

  • Proactive and flexible approach to work

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Driven by the production of high quality, accurate pieces of work with good attention to detail


  • Experience within the Financial Services sector

  • Administrative experience within a training environment

  • Visio or Project experience

  • Experience or exposure to Learning Management Systems such as Cornerstone

Core responsibilities:

  • All course scheduling and coordination, maintaining training supplier relationships, managing room bookings and catering requirements and maintenance of HR systems

  • Assist with scheduling of induction, leadership and management programmes

  • Supporting the integration of a new learning management system through data inputting and other tasks as required

  • Processing and tracking L&D invoices

  • Attendance at & creation of agendas & minutes, and production of reports / papers for L&D-related meetings

  • Delivery of induction training to new starts on a rotation with other Administrators, including responsibility for creating & updating the HR Welcome Pack, Induction script & Managers' Guide to Induction

  • Producing L&D Management Information & statistics as required

  • Providing all other support to the Learning & Development team and cover for the L&D Assistants as required

  • Supporting other ad hoc administration tasks and projects
