SYSTEMS ENGINEER - BRISTOL - PERMANENT - UP TO £50k + EXCELLENT BENEFITS
My client is a market leading manufacturer of technology for defence applications.
Due to continued and sustained growth they are currently looking to add number of System Design Engineers to the System Design and Validation department on a permanent basis.
The successful applicant will have experience in complex Systems design and development.
Please note that due to the sensitive nature of the products you must be able to obtain SC Clearance.
This role will give you the opportunity to work on next generation defence technologies with some of the best engineers in the industry; you will be part of the team developing solutions for the next generation of advanced missile systems and will be assigned to one of a wide range of roles covering concept and early phase studies through to full development programmes delivering UK and Export Weapon Systems.
-Requirements Specification and Design
-Systems performance analysis.
-Systems Architecture design.
-Concepts studies, research and development.
-Systems Validation including certification and design verification.
-Flow-down of system requirements to subsystem requirement specifications.
-Define and maintain design justification record providing linkage from system requirements to subsystem requirements.
-Development of system-level test sequences.
-Liaise with subsystem teams, to ensure design proposals take into account existing design constraints.
-Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities are increasingly adopted.
-Ideally degree qualified or equivalent.
-Adaptable approach capable of focussing on both domestic and export needs, taking into consideration existing constraints in design proposals.
-Team Player, capable of working with others from various disciplines to reach a consensus agreement.
-Pro-active / self-starter.
-An ability to use their enthusiasm and drive to work autonomously and efficiently to influence team members and other stakeholders in producing technical outputs of good quality in a timely manner.
-Experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment.
-Good understanding of system engineering processes including SysML (training can be provided).
-Experience in DOORS (training can be provided).
-Weapon system knowledge.
-Experience of weapon system studies including design trades, performance analysis, telemetry data analysis etc.
-An ability to rapidly assimilate technical data and produce good quality, proportionate technical documents in a timely manner.
-Experience of systems environmental engineering from requirements capture/approval through to proving planning and certification.
-Experience of munition Safety and Suitability for Service systems engineering aspects.
