Software Engineer


My client is a market leading manufacturer of technology for defence applications.

Due to continued and sustained growth they are currently looking to add number of Software Engineers to the development department on a permanent basis.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience in Software design and development.

Please note that due to the sensitive nature of the products you must be able to obtain SC Clearance.

This role will give you the opportunity to work on next generation defence technologies with some of the best engineers in the industry; you will be part of the team developing solutions for the next generation of advanced missile systems, specifically in the Command and Control domain.

Role Scope:
-You will be developing Command & Control application software for the next generation of Ground Based Air Defence Systems.

-This is a hands-on role and requires the continued design and development of the Command and Control Product Line architecture and the instantiations for future products.

You will be developing software in Rhapsody, DDS, and targeting both C++ and C languages.

-This is a great role for someone with a passion for software and its successful deployment in battlespace weapon systems.

-You will be working with technology that is at the forefront of European missile system design, helping to develop safe, secure and reliable products that can be relied on.

-Many of the products and components used in this domain are the results of strong international collaboration; consequently, there may be the opportunity to travel both within the UK and to sites in France and Italy.

Required Skills:
-You will have extensive experience in model-based development, using UML and tools such as IBM Rhapsody.

-You will have a background in software engineering with good knowledge of modern development practices.

-Knowledge of recognised industry development standards and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C would be desirable.

-You will have significant previous experience with C++.

It would be desirable for you to have knowledge of DDS middleware and Linux based Operating Systems.
