Product UX Manager

The Role

As a Product UX Manager you will be overseeing development projects, ensuring we deliver high quality products with good user experience.

Projects must be delivered on budget and on time, while keeping the customers engaged, consulted and informed of all of the developments from the early days of a project through until launch and beyond.

You will look after the product and represent it internally as we on board more customers and develop it from Minimum Viable to Mature.

You will have sound technical knowledge, design vision and the ability to see the big picture.

You will have project experience managing people and resources.

You will have excellent communication and customer liaison skills.


Duties and Skills:

UX - Engage with users and product owners with user tests, show and tells and workshops to ensure a consistent and high quality user experience across all of the products.

Tell the story of the user and the customer and represent them internally throughout the development.

Service Design - Work with the product owners to provide a product that supports their service delivery and benefits the end users of their service.

Customer Engagement - Guide and encourage the customer through the Agile Process.

Ensure that the product owner is engaged and completes their responsibilities in a timely fashion.

Communicate - Facilitate transparent, open and honest communication among teams and stakeholders.

Ensure that the progress of the project is communicated and transparent, internally and to the customers.

You will need to report on your projects regularly and be the early warning system to spot problems before they occur.

Insight and Discovery - Look for new ways to improve the product throughout the product lifecycle and implement those improvements, through workshops, user tests, user groups.

Development - Work closely with the development team and scrum masters, following agile practices to ensure that they are happy and productive.


Essential Requirements:

Project Management - Experience of project management, risk management, resource and stakeholder management.

A strong ability to balance the needs of the business, project timescales, budgets and client satisfaction in a level-headed and professional style.

UX - A clear understanding of UX principles and strategy and an ability to evaluate the user experience.

Design Thinking - Coordinate and curate the design of a product, facilitate and encourage design thinking with customers and the development teams.

Technical Knowledge - Have a good technical understanding in order to be able to work effectively with the developers to assess feasibility and come up with proposed timelines.

Customer Management - Experience of working with customers and helping them work through challenges to achieve a positive outcome.


Desirable Requirements:

Agile Methods - Understand the Agile methodology and apply it in ways appropriate to each challenge.

Assist the team and scrummaster while improving the accuracy and clarity of stories.

Architecture - Understand the principles of application architecture and have experience with data migration.

Collaborate with consultants to assist clients in bringing other areas of their business onto the cloud platform.

Tools - Any of the following would be advantageous to have a working knowledge of: An issue management application such as JIRA, basic HTML development principles or an existing knowledge of Salesforce.
