Financial accountant


An amazing permanent opportunity providing support to the Finance manager & Finance controller by taking responsibility for the finance and accounting procedures for one or more of the group companies.

The role will be based at Bracknell.

The Finance department consists of a team of eight people in the Bracknell office and a further five in other locations.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate working within a dynamic and fast-changing environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, Additions & Depreciation

  • Prepare Project accruals for monthly review

  • Assist in the production of monthly management accounts for one company, both P&L and BS, for finance manager to group reporting timetable.

  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for finance manager.

  • Support finance manager with accrued income and commitment schedules

  • Own and manage the credit card bookings in PL

  • Support the UK FM with preparation of the annual statutory financial statements.

  • Setup of job analysis codes and authorisation for projects within SUN Accounts for both UK Businesses located in Bracknell.

  • Post sales ledger invoices

  • Prepare supplier statement reconciliations

  • Maintenance and tidy up of the credit and debit ledger

  • Support Finance Manager with Accrued income and commitment schedules

  • Undertake appropriate ad-hoc projects and initiatives from time to time as required

Required qualities

  • Part qualified accountant.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact at all levels of the organisation.

  • Highly energetic and able to work to tight deadlines.

  • Team player with a strong work ethic.

  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong systems knowledge including;

    • Excel to Intermediate level

    • Transactional experience of accounting systems (experience of Sun Accounting would be advantageous)

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic / high growth environment.

  • Proactive & solution-focused.

  • Ability to work independently and knowledge of when to communicate updates

  • Commitment to “get the job done”

Desired qualities

  • Previous use of Sun and/or Proactis and sage line 50

  • Prior experience of working in a US group and/or Entertainment industry.
