Energy Project Manager


The Green Recruitment Company are currently working alongside a renowned expert energy and carbon management company, who supply a range of energy solutions to their eclectic mix of clients.

This rapidly growing company are looking for a skilled and talented Contracts Manager who is willing to progress within the firm, to join their ever growing and exciting team.

The Role:

The purpose of the Contracts Manager is to provide senior management of client mechanical and electrical projects in the commercial property sector, with preferable experience in dealing with complex HVAC projects.

You will be responsible for the following key areas;

* Developing and managing the performance of the sub-contractor framework.

* Overseeing junior project managers and developer's teams.

* Liaising with clients and contractors to design and deliver projects.

* Responsible for installing energy conservation measures, including lighting, fabric & technical insulation, and controls in our clients' property portfolio, on time, within budget and to a high quality standard.

* Ensuring all sub-contractor contracts are up to date, and operating under the appropriate management processes.

* Negotiating pricing with sub-contractors.

* Dealing appropriately with escalations and non-conformances.

* Ensuring operational processes drive efficiencies, and looking for improvement opportunities.

* Provide supportive and effective leadership, including performance management, and individual and team development.

* Ensuring budgets are met and minimising commercial risk.

* Develop M&E contractors to meet company targets and contractual obligations.

* Ensure all pertinent issues are logged and reported to the SHEQ committee.

* Ensure projects are delivered on time within budget and are of a correct quality.

The Individual:

* PRINCE 2 or equivalent project management experience

* A recognised H&S qualification (NEBOSH Diploma, CSCS Card)

* Experience in scoping, project management and delivery of M&E measures onto commercial buildings.

* Previous experience in construction industry managing M&E contractors

* Experience in site Health and Safety management

* Experience of competitive tendering and procurement for building improvement and construction projects

* Good understanding of individual and district heating systems.

* Understanding of different types of construction contracting models with subcontractor and other stakeholders

* Expertise in CDM regulations

* Good understanding of building regulations

* Excellent communication and influencing skills

* Good negotiating skills

* Good at working in a team and with junior team members

* Excellent problem solving skills
