Marketing Data Manager

We're recruiting on behalf of a multi-play telecoms provider who are looking to recruit a Marketing Data Manager into their Data Management business unit.

It's a team of 7, split across the various product categories with this role specialising specifically on the Mobile specific customer base.

You will be managing the marketing data that feeds into campaigns, looking at:

  • Where the data is sourced

  • Tracking issues and putting in fixes where necessary

  • That it feeds in correctly and that overnight feeds have run correctly and that the volumes look right

  • Making enhancements to BAU - looking at new initiatives such as new data sources from 3rd party channels

  • Carrying out extraction, checking, analysis of the data to ensure it's of the right quality

  • Looking at how strategic transformation projects from across the wider business are having an impact on and changing feeds, then doing remedial work to ensure they continue to work

This will be a very varied role, quite technical in nature and will require really polished SQL coding skills, as well as a sound understanding of how to identify issues and put in place the right fixes to ensure the smooth running of the data capability.

On top of this, you will also require a really sound understanding of data protection best practices including things like permissions, as you will be handling both large volumes of complex data as well as lots of data from third party agencies and partners too.

Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 depending on experience.

Location: Can be West London or Hampshire

  • Experience working in Marketing specific data management / data warehousing or solution design for a data capability within a consumer business with a large data asset

  • You've got to be skilled in SQL to a coding level

  • Proficient in being able to extract, manipulate and quality control data from a central data warehouse for use in marketing campaigns

  • You've come from a large-scale data environment working with consumer data

  • Good communication skills, working with business stakeholders - i.e.

    not just the kind of person who ‘goes and codes, hands back data' - you've got to be able to translate the business requirement into a coding need and can communicate it back effectively again once the work is done

  • Must have the necessary visas and permissions to live and work in the UK.
