Cost Optimisation Technical Clerk


A world renowned Automotive OEM client located in Bedfordshire are currently seeking an Cost Optimisation Technical Clerk to join them on a 12 month rolling contract basis.

Length: 12 Months +
Rate: £16.51 Ltd + Overtime at 24.77

Mission and Main Objectives
To successfully deliver vehicle projects to market with optimised design applications.

Motivated and dedicated to generation of cost optimisation opportunities through innovative thinking.

Creating opportunities and guidance for cost saving, whilst monitoring the overall status versus target in detail.

Working in a newly developed team to support achievement of cost goals each financial year and reporting transparently to Management the tactics and progress on a weekly basis.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Support status reporting to executive management on all items regarding electrical savings
Promoting and generating technical cost optimisation in line with targets, strongly supporting Management
Advising electrical Design and Test sections regarding tactics for their cost optimisation
Being an expert for the costs monitoring and management tools (training given)
Close tracking of all cost optimisation ideas and ensuring efficient delivery
Validation determination with Design and Test groups
Cross functional working with engineering, finance, purchase and project management
Enthusiastic and motivational role model for cost optimisation
Pride and enjoyment of reaching tough targets through innovative thinking and determination
Additionally the following is an advantage.

Strong presentation creation and delivery skills
Manipulation of excel regarding conditioning, formulas and pivot tables.

Knowledge of 3D CAD tools
Knowledge of harness, plastic part & metal bracket manufacture to manage Tier 1 supplier.

Background & Experience
Have a minimum of 1 year experience working in an OEM within an electrical area.

Show an understanding of electrical theory and the operation of vehicle electrical systems.

Strong project management skills.

Have good communication and reporting skills.

Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions could be longer, with notice.

Competent with PC applications.

MS office etc.

Especially Excel and Powerpoint.

Self-motivating and self-managing.



Energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and working hours.

Passionate about the products and brand, diligent and trustworthy.
