Senior Residential Support Worker ( Children's Home) - Burton on Trent, Staffordshire

£17,900 - £22,339 per annum plus £33 per sleep in allowance (worth approx.

£2,000 per annum) - 40 hours + sleep in's.

My Clients are an established independent provider of children's residential services.

The main goal is to provide high quality residential care that meet and exceed the regulatory standards.

It is an establishment where every young person's individual needs is carefully and precisely met through the implementation of safe and welcoming short term and long term support to children aged 11 to 18 years.


The homes mission statement is to make the residential children's homes a nice place to live, where young people feel safe and well cared for, where they are listened to and helped to prepare for the best possible start to adult life.

In addition their Residential Home supports children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and social disorders, helping children to lead positive lives and have in place support teams which encourage the development of the child's emotional, physical and social well-being throughout their stay and older children are given vital skills that will ultimately guide them on their way to independent living.

The main responsibilities for this role - Senior Residential Support Worker ( Children's Home) - ( Hold NVQ Level 3, over 21, Residential / Childcare 2 years minimum, build relationships with children / local agencies )

The candidate must have a NVQ Level 3/Diploma or equivalent (or be working towards) in a childcare qualification, previous supervisory experience and must have worked for at least two years with children and young people with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties and learning difficulties and/or attachment disorder.

You will have experience or the desire to work using attachment aware and therapeutic approaches understanding and meeting ?looked after' children and young people's needs.

You will possess excellent communication skills have a positive attitude and a compassionate, empathic and caring manner.

Although not essential a full driving licence would be highly advantageous.

You will need to be flexible to work shifts and to sleep in up to 2 nights per week.
