Technical Sales Manager

We are looking for two Technical Sales Manager's with chemistry backgrounds and a proven track records in the chemical industry, for ASAP permanent positions in Manchester.

You will be a team player with good relationship building abilities with clients.

Salary of circa £30-40k depending on experience, Car, commission and 25 days holiday (plus statutory) and pension.

We are looking for a candidate who is an applications focused commercial chemist or has equivalent chemical experience, a clear communicator, confident, self-motivated and proactive, with the drive for the Company to become the preferred supplier of clients.

Working as the successful Technical Sales Manager, you will actively promote the Company and services in the market.

This will include:

*Maximise sales of manufactured products, directly and via a network of distributors/agents, nationally and internationally.

*Similarly maximise the sales of distributed products, which form an important part of the overall product portfolio.

*Keep management aware of all market intelligence as it affects our customers, suppliers, competitors and the ability to compete most effectively in the market with both existing and new products.

Duties / Areas of Responsibility:

*Develop relationships and ensure regular communication with existing customers via visits, email and telephone to maintain and grow current business and become their supplier of choice.

*Be willing and able to talk with both the technical and commercial departments of customers to gain knowledge of product uses and the wider industry and use this to further develop the potential for Company products not currently taken.

*Use application and industry knowledge to research and identify potential new customers, introduce them to capabilities & product range on offer and to grow sales with them.

*Use application and industry knowledge to identify potential new markets by both sector and geography.

*Be able to sell synergistically to similar customers within the same industry without breaching the confidentiality of others.

*Provide quotes within the guidelines of the business and be able to negotiate with customers to convert business, including acceptable MOQ's, margin, deliverability and terms & conditions of sale.

*Follow up leads from the website, incoming enquiries and from any other source.

*Attend occasional UK and overseas exhibitions, as required, and follow up leads.

*Ensure all activity is recorded and communicated within the business in a timely manner.

*Build relationships with the rest of the business team and understand the internal processes to ensure that the sales function can operate effectively.

*Maintain and improve the quality of service.

*Keep up-to-date on product applications, the competition, the market and the developments within Libra and its technical capabilities.

*Travel, as required and authorised, within the UK and potentially overseas.

We are also looking for someone who:

*Can work under pressure and to strict and sometimes challenging deadlines, with the ability to prioritise own work.

*Can work on own initiative but realise the need for the whole team to get the business done.

*Has excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

*Has excellent interpersonal skills.

*Has excellent administration, planning, organisational and time keeping skills.
