Project Support Engineer

Our client is looking to recruit a Project Support Engineer to their Rail Division (Croydon).

To provide engineering support for all rail projects from initial design to completion.

If required due to demand of work, to assist with individual project management.

Project Support Engineer (Croydon) ACCOUNTABILITIES:
,To receive and accept projects from the Divisional Operations Manager in order to gain a full understanding of the customers' requirements from an electrical engineering perspective.

,Make contact with the client engineering teams and develop the engineering design requirements of the project.

,Produce and publish a detailed project plan of all the engineering requirements, ensuring that it meets the customers' expectation.

,Report any project engineering issues/concerns to the Divisional Operations Manager and work with him to ensure compliance.

,Prepare and submit project drawings, equipment specification and interface requirements.

,Liaison with client to agree any engineering amendments to preliminary design and prepare and submit documentation for final design review in line with required approved format.

,If required attend Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of equipment under the terms of the contract.

,Maintain communication with the Installation Supervisor and deal with any engineering design issues that may arise and making arrangements with the Project Manager for any additional materials required.

,Communicate with the Installation Supervisor and customer (as required) for final commissioning and testing of equipment (electrical and operational).

,Preparation of training documentation and electrical installation plans to be carried out by the Installation Supervisor.

,Communicate effectively with all colleagues to ensure that work is being carried out efficiently and in a timely manner.

,To adhere to all health and safety and ISO procedures as outlined in the Company's procedures.

This list is not exhaustive and you may be required to carry out additional duties as and when instructed by the management of the Company.

,Meet the electrical specification requirements of each rail project.

,Deliver all electrical requirements and design documentation for rail projects on time.

,Successful FAT and customer sign off, if required
,Customer feedback to Divisional Operations Manager/Project Managers
,Operations manuals, electrical diagrams and maintenance information to be held in project file.


Hold a current recognised qualification in electrical and engineering design.

Have a good understanding of electrical and mechanical operations in heavy plant machinery

Ability to use CAD software ( 2D and 3D)

Intermediate knowledge and working experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.

Demonstrated evidence of working under pressure to stringent deadlines.

Ability to communication effectively at all levels.

Understanding of civil and electrical drawings.

,Worked within the rail industry.

,Experience and knowledge of working on overseas projects
